Scuba Diving:

Mizeny and I decided to take our diving Certification in May 2003.
We decided to go with Ocean's Window In San Antonio and took their weekend course which consisted in going to class Friday from 6:30PM - 9:00PM and 9 - 5 Saturday and Sunday. Two weeks later we did our checkout dives at Aquarena Springs in San Marco's Texas. We did two dives Saturday and Two dives Sunday then we were PADI Certified Divers :-).

Cozumel 2003:
In July 2003 we decided to go diving to Cozumel which some say is the second best reef in the world second to the great barrier reef in Australia. We arrived in Cozumel at the Brisas Cozumel hotel and contacted Fernando Gonzales from Mantaraya Divers to arrange pickup time and location. We were a little nervous since this was our first dive after certification and our first dive in the ocean but Fernando and his staff made us feel safe and comfortable. That day we did (2) dives, but unfortunately Mizeny hurt her ears on the second dive and after going to a Doctor we discovered that she had a second stage Baro Trauma and had to lay low for a few days. Since we couldn't dive we decided to rent a scooter and go around the Island but at a top speed of 30 MPH we were more sore and tired then anything therefore for the sake of your butt I recommend you avoid this since there isn't much to see out there anyway. The next day we decided to go to Playa Del Carmen and Cozumel which was fun.

Two days later the Doctor gave her the go ahead to do a dive and we went back out with Fernando but Mizeny was only able to do the second dive of the day since it was a shallower dive.

All in all we were amazed with Cozumel and can't wait to go back in 2004.

Medina Lake:
In September we decided to go diving to Medina Lake to get a bit more experience. Water conditions aren't very good at the local lakes therefore we knew not to expect much. Visibility was 6 FT and water temperature was 63 degrees for that day therefore it wasn't an excellent dive but we had a good time with our friends.

San Marcos: 04/10/04
Went to the anual San Marcos Trashure Hunt to help clean the lake, but with so much weed and poor visibility it was hard to spot trash. This dive wasn't good at all but we still had fun with our friends. Pictures

Aquarena Springs: 04/18/04
Aquarena Springs was having a lake cleanup and we decided to volunteer, since we aren't scientific divers we were confined to the arena area, but this was still a good dive with good visibility and 72 degree water. Pictures

Cozumel 2004: 06/18/04 - 06/25/04
Went back to Cozumel for some great dives, unfortunately I pinched a nerve in my back soon after arriving to Cozumel which kept me in bed for a few days but I still had 7 great dives and Mizeny did 9. Pictures
